Formally known as Asia Todd, Asia Jenine is a budding New Jersey based theatre artist and administrator with a variety of interests and talents.
Having been immersed in the world of theater since the age of 11, Asia is constantly finding herself enamored by the craft and those who partake in it. She is particularly interested in stories that challenge societal norms and highlight the complexities/intersectionality of those within BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Asia is a proud alumna of Rowan University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She holds dual BA degrees in Theatre Arts and Radio, Television, and Film, with concentrations in acting, directing, and film production. Since graduating, Asia has begun a career in the professional theater scene, working in different compacities such as: acting, marketing, community outreach, event coordination, and more. She attributes being able to do this kind of work to her time in the New Jersey Theatre Alliance's 2024 career accelerator program - where she was 1 of 3 fellows.
Described by her peers and collaborators as “dedicated, zealous, and lively”, Asia Jenine aims to bring an air of warmth, authenticity, and professionalism to any project/space that she occupies!
Asia's Values
“A wise (wo)man knows (s)he knows nothing at all” - Confucius/Socrates
With so much to learn in life, Asia tries her best to approach her craft, and day to day activities, from a student perspective - always willing to learn and grow.
She upholds the idea that education, in all of its forms (school, books, experiences, YouTube, you name it), is an essential key to becoming a better artist and human.
Simply yet poetically put: the sun does not set without the moon, and day does not come without night.
Balance is ultimately what life is about. And finding this kind of "cosmic" balance within her personal and professional life is a task that Asia always vows to take.
Asia acknowledges and holds dear the notion that “it takes a village” to thrive in this world.
No one gets anywhere alone, therefore having people who support you and your ideas (and vice versa) is crucial to one's success.
As an actress and writer, Asia believes that if we can do character work for our roles and our stories, why not do it for ourselves?
As the main character in our lives, we should constantly be self reflecting in order to see where we are coming from and where we can go.
